How to do a Grievance in CIBIL in 2024?

There are various channels on TransUnion CIBIL official websites through which an individual can approach them to rectify their CIBIL report. For this purpose, you can raise an online dispute by logging into your “my CIBIL Portal” or write a complaint letter along with the supporting evidence.

Additionally, you may also contact the CIBIL customer support helpline number (022-61404300) or chat with them through “CIBIL Chatbot” or send a letter to their registered office address, or visit there physically.

Different channels to raise dispute in CIBIL

These are all the initial steps that you can follow to initiate a dispute related to your CIBIL report. Typically, TransUnion CIBIL takes an approximate time (TAT) of 30 days to resolve the dispute.

In between, they forward the disputed details to the respective lending institute to verify its authenticity. And, based on the lender’s confirmation, they made the necessary changes accordingly.

However, what if you do not get any response from the CIBIL within the stipulated time frame? What if CIBIL closed the dispute ID without making any changes?

Don’t worry! To address all these unsatisfied customers, TransUnion CIBIL has set up a Grievance Redressal Mechanism. According to this, if you are not satisfied with the solution provided by the above-mentioned channels, you can register an online grievance to the TransUnion CIBIL Escalation Desk.

To register an online grievance in CIBIL, you should have a valid Service Request Number, that you have received during your initial complaints.

This method allows both individual and commercial consumers to bring their concerns to CIBIL’s higher authorities.

How Does TransUnion CIBIL Grievance Redressal Work?

When you raise a dispute in CIBIL through all the initial channels, usually those disputes are tracked by their customer support team. However, for a few critical cases, they may fail to resolve the matter satisfactorily.

But when you register an online grievance in CIBIL, along with your prior complaint IDs, your complaint will be assigned to their Grievance Redressal Officers or Nodal Officers, who are more experienced in handling such grievances.

They will prioritize your concern to ensure a speedy and effective resolution of your complaint. If necessary, they may also contact you for further clarification. And, throughout the grievance redressal process, CIBIL will provide updates to your registered email ID.

The process to register an online Grievance in CIBIL:

  1. First visit the TransUnion CIBIL Official website www.cibil.com. On the home page, you may find the “Support” option at the top as highlighted in the picture. Go to the customer “Support” section.

2. Then scroll down the new page and navigate to the option for “Contact Us: CLICK HERE TO KNOW THE DETAILS” as pointed out in the below picture. Click on the yellow button.

3. Then, you will land on a new page. Scroll down the new page. On the downside, you will find the option for “Visit Our Grievance Desk”. Click on the link to register an online grievance in CIBIL.

4. Then, the CIBIL Grievance Desk page will open to you. As you can see in the below image, here, you will get the opportunity to bring your concern to TransUnion CIBIL Nodal Officer Mr. A Sharma. Go to the “Click Here” link to proceed further.

5. On the next page, the online grievance form will open. Fill in all the boxes with your appropriate personal information, such as name, date of birth, address, contact details, and identification details. Please note that your address line should not contain any commas, full stops, or other special characters.

Then, enter the valid Service Request Number that you received in your previous complaints. Typically, you will receive the Service Request Number when you write a complaint letter to CIBIL along with all the necessary supportive documents.

In the “Details of Escalation” section, describe your concernbriefly (Maximum word limit 1000 characters). Be noted that here, you don’t have any option to attach any documents.

TransUnion CIBIL will consider all those documents that you had submitted at the time of the written complaint. Finally, enter the characters shown in the image and proceed with the final submission.

6. After successful submission, a Grievance ID will be generated, as shown in the picture below. Additionally, CIBIL will also share the same Grievance ID with your registered email address. You can expect a response of your complaint within 15 business days.

This is all about registering an online grievance in CIBIL, additionally, you may also contact the lending institute simultaneously. As we discussed earlier, CIBIL will forward your complaint to the respective lending institute to verify the information mentioned in your CIBIL report. So, it’s better to send a separate complaint/ email to the respective lending for faster resolution.

Register a complaint against CIBIL:

If you are still not satisfied with the responses by CIBIL, then you can file a complaint against them.
